Challenge
For many people, especially those with nonlinear thinking styles, useful ideas often show up unexpectedly, and vanish just as fast. While traditional note-taking apps allow users to jot things down, they rarely offer a system for organizing those thoughts in the moment. This leads to scattered notes that are quickly forgotten and rarely acted on. Users need a tool that helps them capture fleeting thoughts instantly, while also making it easy to sort and revisit them later in a meaningful way.
Results
ThoughtNest opens directly to a clean, frictionless capture screen, allowing users to quickly write down thoughts before they’re lost. Each idea can be manually assigned to a visual, editable category right away, helping users build organization into the process without feeling overwhelmed. Users can switch between a list view or a Kanban-style board to track and reflect on their thoughts in the way that works best for them. To support habit-building, the app also sends gentle affirmation-based notifications throughout the day, at customizable times and frequencies, reminding users to pause, reflect, and jot down anything on their mind. Future versions will explore AI-powered grouping to help users who struggle with mental organization sort their ideas automatically.
